- 1 slab Baby Back Pork Ribs approximately 3lbs
- 3 Tbsp Dry Barbecue Rub such as Famous Dave's
- 1 Can Beer Any kind you like!
- 1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce Again, pick your favorite
Prepare the ribs by cutting the slab in half and removing the silver skin. (please see instructional video above) Rub the ribs top, bottom and sides liberally with the spice rub. Wrap in aluminum foil (tightly) and refrigerate for a minimum of 8 hours.
Stand each half of the ribs on its side in the pot as pictured. Pour the beer in the crockpot careful not to pour it directly on the ribs in order to keep that rub in place. Cook on low for 8 hours. At 7 hours 45 minutes, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit if finishing in the oven. If finishing on the grill, preheat your grill to medium.
Carefully remove the ribs from the crockpot using large tongs. The ribs are very delicate and will fall off the bone, so be gentle with them!
To finish in the oven, place ribs meat side up on a baking sheet and slather on the barbecue sauce. Bake for 10 -15 minutes or until sauce starts to char. To finish on the grill, place ribs meatiest side down and grill on medium heat for 5 - 10 minutes.
