Easy homemade soft pretzels
You won’t believe just how easy these are to make!
I keep frozen dinner roll dough on hand at all times. Mostly because it is so easy to make fabulous dinner rolls. However, I have discovered a much better use for the stuff! With a simple soda water “bath”, the rolls are transformed into yummy soft pretzels.
Just use plain frozen dinner roll dough and shape it into the shape you desire. We like the pretzel sticks because they are perfect for dipping.
Use a large stock pot and good tongs for the soda bath.
I put three or four pretzel sticks in the bath and flip them over after 15 seconds. Then, I put them on a cookie cooling rack to dry. After that, slap on some egg wash and coarse salt, pop them in the oven and BAM! You have the most wonderful soft pretzels imaginable.
